Recalls, Market Withdrawals, & Safety Alerts at the Food and Drug Administration
At the time of this writing, 20 food recalls had been made by the FDA in less than ten days. Not knowing what is the normal recall rate, we created this page to keep readers informed. To read current Recalls, click here.
Egg Recall update...
Eggs affected by the expanded recall were distributed to food wholesalers, distribution centers and food service companies in Arkansas as well as in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
The eggs are packaged under the brand names Albertsons, Farm Fresh, James Farms, Glenview, Mountain Dairy, Ralphs, Boomsma, Lund, Kemps, Pacific Coast, Lucerne, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland and Dutch Farms.
The products are packed in cartons of from six to 18, as well as loose eggs for institutional use and repackaging, with Julian dates ranging from 136 to 229 and plant numbers 1720 and 1942.
Dates and codes can be found stamped on the end of the egg carton or printed on the case label. The plant number begins with the letter P and then the number. The date follows the plant number, for example: P-1720 223.
